Seismic
sections reflect the subsurface
bodies, different in stratigraphy, lithology and
fluids in different ways. The differences are usually hidden by
disturbances of waveforms, often small and almost
invisible. Various filtering procedures, deconvolutions
and seismic attributes calculation yield various components of the waveforms. Using
simultaneously, in whole or part of these components,
the
Section
Classification programs delineate zones
corresponding to collectors, their caps, faults
and other features. In most cases they allow improving horizon and faults tracing and to obtain
a geologically sound picture with vertical
resolution of 1-2 sample intervals and with
lateral resolution of 1-2 group
intervals.
The usage of
Section
Classification Tool is straightforward and it is
only necessary to choose the number of classes and
a set of section attributes to run the programs
Taxonomy
and
Classification.
You have to choose the reference points (high
porosity zones, productive zones, cap rocks, etc.)
to run program
Clustering,
delineating corresponding classes distribution.
